Pay Offset for Any Active Duty

A comprehensive pay offset program makes up the difference in pay when a reservist's military pay is less than the employer’s pay. This pay offset applies to all deployments and active duty for training--not just deployments in support of Enduring Freedom and Noble Eagle. The individual continues to accrue leave and is paid for excess leave that cannot be carried into the next calendar year. All employer contributions to retirement accounts are made up on return of the employee from military service. The employer paid portions of insurance premiums continue for families of deployed members. The personnel rules provide all employees 15 days of paid military leave annually.

Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years.
