Verizon’s government relations staff and the staff of the state trade organization, the New Jersey Utilities Association, helped lobby the governor and the leadership of the state legislature to provide numerous additional benefits for Reservists and Guard members to include state tax deductions for military pay, tuition free admission to state colleges and universities, free hunting and fishing licenses, and free admission to state parks and recreation areas.
