Send Care Packages

Upon arriving at the barracks in Ft. Lewis, Washington, Sgt. Katherine MacKay learned there were no sheets or blankets and the Army was not able to provide any linens. Sgt MacKay called on her employer DPR Construction Inc and Doug Woods, one of the owners, sent a personal check in the amount of $1400 to buy bedding for over 60 members of her battalion. After a recent company picnic she received a "care package" of photos, shirts, and updates of on-site projects she had worked on at their headquarters in Redwood City.

Individuals within the company can send "care packages" and personal items like shampoo...a valued item in the desert! In return an employee of the San Jose Space Propulsion facilities of Pratt & Whitney responded to her care packages by sending home items with a Kosovo logo when she was stationed there.

Bonus: Encourage employees who are traveling to bring home the free in-room toiletries from hotels. These quick-use sizes can be very appropriate for on-the-move soldiers.
