Recognize the Value of Military Employees Year-Round

At W. L. Gore & Associates, they believe in giving honor where it’s due. Guard members and reservists are consistently treated with the highest degree of honor, respect, dignity and recognition. They are considered partners in our national defense and are commonly recognized in business meetings for their dual service. It’s a part of the company’s culture. Note: non-military employees who serve in other ways in their communities—such as scouting, coaching children’s sports, building homes for Habitat for Humanity—should also be recognized.

Wells Fargo Financial Bank is proud and commited to supporting its military members. Its leaders and supervisors are eager to hire military members since they know that their military experience brings a strong work ethic and outstanding leadership skills to the work place. They make excellent role models for other team members as well as have a very positive impact on their customers. Management feels military training is an asset and actively seeks out prospective workers with military backgrounds. The support that military members receive permeates the organization and can be witnessed at all levels of management.

In Ohio, SBC Ameritech recognizes the value of military experience by advancing new hires for pay purposes ahead of normal entry-level scales, often in excess of two years. Military employees are encouraged to take every opportunity to participate in those education and training opportunities that will lead to advancement in their military rank. Military service, and most especially military promotion, earns credit for higher pay and more responsible positions within the corporation.
