Scholarships

Sending a child to school can be expensive, particularly given recent increases in college and university tuition. Scholarships to children of your employees who serve in the military can be gratifyingly helpful. Even just $500 or $1500 a year can make a big difference to a student. You might want to offer scholarships to all children of employees who go on to college, perhaps with something extra for those who have been activated for military service.

United Parcel Service Airlines provides support to the Louisville (Kentucky) Armed Forces Committee by sponsoring two $500 scholarships for the company and committee to present to outstanding ROTC students at the University of Louisville.

These scholarships don’t have to be fully funded by the employer. Establish a foundation and invite tax-deductible contributions from employees.
