Care for Veterans’ Sections of Cemeteries

There are all sorts of things you can do—as a company and as volunteers who happen to be employees of a company—to engage in a brightening-up project at a cemetery. You might even create a community support group that could even establish itself as a perpetual care organization.

Public Service of New Hampshire immediately stepped up to the plate when the Governor of New Hampshire and the New Hampshire National Guard designed a project to substantially upgrade the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery. A Memorial Walkway honoring the contributions and achievements of New Hampshire’s military forces will be a most welcome addition to the State’s Veterans Cemetery. PSNH was one of the first and largest contributing sponsors to this landmark project. They avidly supported a fund-raising dinner leveraging their own sponsorship.

Following the campaign’s kickoff, PSNH’s President and Chief Operating Officer accepted the role of Team Leader for Corporate Solicitations, and two other employees are critical volunteers to the strategic planning team. In addition to the corporate contribution, PSNH has installed a 3-dimensional architect’s rendering of the project in the lobby of the company’s new headquarters building, promoting the opportunity to con!tribute, in time for a grand opening event drawing over 400 New Hampshire business leaders and legislators. They are sending the Veterans’ Cemetery campaign brochure to all 1200 of their employees and promoting the funding-raising campaign in an upcoming electric bill insert to all 400,000+ customers.
