Fly the Flag
Display the American flag prominently—in your facilities, on the grounds, and on your vehicles. Ideas include posting an American flag in your lobby and perhaps in the office of your chief executive. Another good place to display the flag, on a pole or on a wall, is the employee cafeteria or lunchroom. Desktop American flags can be given to each employee.
Some employers have purchased flag decals or bumper stickers for automobiles and distributed them to employees and families. Others purchased magnetized rubber American flags for display on company vehicles. Flag lapel pins are popular and, if your company is large enough, you can get them custom made with an add-on piece proclaiming your company’s support.
Some companies, like Metropolitan Mortgage & Securities Co., Inc., display the flag on the outside of the building. Metropolitan draped from the top of each end of its 16-story building custom-made American flags, each measuring 40 feet by 60 feet. Others have installed flag poles to fly the stars and stripes in front of their buildings.
