Further, unused prescription drugs stockpiled in medicine cabinets can contribute to drug abuse or overdoses by children, teens and adults.

Health firm opens clinic for its own employees

Global health care company Sanofi is keeping its own employees healthy by opening a full-service medical center and on-site pharmacy at its U.S. headquarters in Bridgewater, N.J.

“As a global health care company that is dedicated to solving health challenges, it is essential for us to know that we are doing everything we can to help our own employees and their dependents stay well,” says Sanofi’s Judy O’Hagan, VP of U.S. HR.

The health center and pharmacy is operated by Walgreens Take Care Health Systems and will serve 2,600 employees in the Bridgewater area. Service

Group Meeting Bingo: Keeping Developmental Biologists Awake

Few things are tougher than keeping your New Years Lab-olutions for the entire year. Being that this is just the first week back, surely you were able to stay awake during this weeks seminar or group meeting. But alas, 51 weeks of challenge lie ahead and some of those weeks will be filled with seminars in a room thats a little too warm, group meetings by a lab member thats a little too boring, or lectures at a conference that are a little too early.

Our good friends over at The Node decided they needed to take action to ensure developmental biologists everywhere hang on every word out of every seminar speakers mouth in 2012.

One on One: Scott Harrison, Charity Water

Scott Harrison used to be a New York City club promoter, making a living from selling people $16 drinks and $300 bottles of vodka. Now he is the founder and chief executive of Charity Water, a nonprofit that focuses on the need for clean drinking water around the world.

Mr.Harrison, 36, says the group received early support from people in technology, and for its growth, has relied on methods borrowed from social media, and from the way start-ups operate.
